Shaved Pebble Mosaics, a Ning Collection exclusive, is literally a process of “shaving” off the bottom of a pebble, leaving the top natural and 100% untouched. Why “shave” a beach pebble? Pebbles on a “normal” mosaic must be sorted or “gauged” to achieve a relatively flat surface after the mosaic is installed. Usable pebbles and color choices are limited to pebbles which lend themselves to the “gauging” process, making the introduction of new colors and pebble choices almost impossible. By shaving, rather than sorting pebbles, the sky is the limit! Our goal is to continually introduce vast new choices in colors, pebbles, and mosaic products. Adding attention to detail, each shaved pebble ranges in thickness from 1cm to 1.3cm, thus giving the finished mosaic a truly natural look and feel. |
